Traditional Diaphragm vs. Caya® Diaphragm
Does one-size really fit most?
Yes!! The Caya® Diaphragm fits about 80% of women. For the women who used or have been fitted for a conventional diaphragm, the Caya® fits women who fall in the 65-80mm range. However, while a pelvic exam or traditional fitting is not a requirement for Caya® use, if your size is unknown you should consider having your provider order a “Test Fit” sample of Caya® to confirm that Caya® will work for you.
How to get Caya®
The Caya® Diaphragm requires a prescription from your healthcare provider in the United States. It is a one-size-fits- most diaphragm so the Caya® does not require a pelvic exam or fitting, like the traditional diaphragm. If you would like to make sure the Caya® is right for you, we will send your provider a sample of the Caya® Test Fit. Once you have a prescription for the Caya® Diaphragm, you can get your Caya® filled through a mail order pharmacy, retail or local independent pharmacy.

The Caya® is contraindicated if the patient was previously sized with a conventional diaphragm with the size 50-60mm and 85-90mm.
How Caya Works
Patient's Frequently Asked Questions
How safe is the Caya® diaphragm?
No contraceptive method can guarantee 100% safety from an unwanted pregnancy. The Caya® diaphragm is as safe as the classic diaphragm. The more often you use the Caya® diaphragm, the more confident you will become in using this contraceptive method and the more safety this method will offer you.
How do I know that the Caya® is inserted correctly and fits?
Use your longest finger (usually the middle finger) to verify the correct position of the diaphragm. Check whether the cup covers the cervix and the removal dome is located securely behind your pubic bone. If this is the case, you are well protected.
For how long can I use the Caya® diaphragm before replacing?
The Caya® diaphragm can be used up to 2 years after the first use before replacement unless Caya® becomes damaged or in cases of vaginal infection.
Why does the Caya® diaphragm have to remain in the vaginia for 6 hours after intercourse?
Leaving Caya® in place for 6 hours will help ensure that the sperm are inactivated by the contraceptive gel that you used with the Caya® diaphragm. This will help prevent unwanted pregnancy.
